The Kinder Foundation was formed in 1995 by a small group of friends to raise money for charities that focus on helping children. Since its inception, The Kinder Foundation has directed most of its efforts towards supporting Bloorview Kids Rehab (formerly the Bloorview MacMillan Children’s Centre). Each year, The Kinder Foundation hosts a sold-out charity golf tournament followed by a gala dinner for 500 participants, featuring entertainment and live and silent auctions.

To date, The Kinder Foundation has given over $1 million dollars to Bloorview for the purchase of two large, specially equipped transport vans and exercise equipment and for the construction of the full-sized Kinder Foundation Gymnasium in the centre’s new location which was opened in March of 2007.

Proceeds from this year’s tournament will be directed to Autism services and research within Bloorview’s Child Development Program. Until two years ago, these services were located at various sites throughout the GTA. They were then combined to one central location, Bloorview. The centre is home to Autism diagnosis and the Social Communications Pilot program (integrating and socializing able-bodied children with Autistic children), located in the Bloorview school. In order to further enhance its services, Bloorview has recently engaged an international leader in Autism Research to join its professional staff.

With your support, we will reach our 2008 goal of $150,000 in proceeds to help Bloorview assist children with Autism and their families overcome their difficult challenges and achieve a significantly improved quality of life.

Bloorview’s charitable registration number is 88932-6278-RR0001 and website is www.bloorviewmacmillan.on.ca
